[ Naminé hasn't posted on the network in a while, but her expression as the feed flickers on is one part curious, one part unsure. ]

It's... probably a strange question, but... does anyone have any advice on, um, breaking out of your shell?

What sort of contests are available? I've been considering challenging gym leaders, but... that's all.

You know, I'm not entirely sure, but I've heard about contests in the different cities. For things like beauty or smarts for your Pokemon. I imagine it would be fun if you have a competitive Pokemon.

I know there's some kind of surfing contest in Cianwood, but I'm not sure about the details-- might be fun with a Pokemon; I don't know, really.

I've never heard of anything like that before... but it seems much different from battling.

[ Which she really isn't half-bad at, but seeing her Pokémon get hurt is not something she enjoys. ]

I'm... not certain if I'm much of the surfing type.

It might be worth looking for the contests. I'm not sure who holds them, but one of the locals could probably tell you. Hopefully they exist in every city, but I don't know for sure.

Mm. Maybe they're less well-known than the gym challenge... [ She nods, giving him a little smile. ] So, um... how have you been?

Ah... I've been well, I suppose.

[Some things have happened, but he doesn't really want to get into them.]

How's the Pokemon you got from me? It should have hatched by now, I believe.

[ She nods, letting that drop. She doesn't want to force him, especially since they've spoken only a few times. ]

Oh! I'll be back. [ She leaves the frame and returns quick enough, a dozing Fennekin in her arms. ]

He hatched not too long ago. He's doing very well, but he sleeps quite a bit.

[...Oh, no, that sounds so cute.]

It's probably because he's still a little baby.

[Or maybe he'll just end up lazy; that sounds cute, too.]

He did just hatch a few days ago... Maybe he's so warm because he's a fire type that it makes him sleepy...?

[ It is cute--and that baby likes to curl up against her neck when she sleeps. It's pretty nice, actually. ]

Mm. I'm just happy he's comfortable enough around me to sleep so close.

Ah, it seems like egg-raised Pokemon bond with people quickly. That's probably not a surprise.

Maybe it's because we've carried them from their earliest stage... and we're the first person they see?

You know, that might be it.

[He looks thoughtful.]

[ She looks honestly pretty surprised. ]

Y-you really think so?

Maybe? I don't actually know much about Pokemon breeding.

But it would explain why Pokemon you hand raise are immediately more friendly around you than wild-caught ones.

[Or it could be a higher initial friendship rating!]

[ Greed aren't you a breeder. ]

I've noticed that they do seem to become friendlier faster... I've heard others say the same. I think it's sweet.

I do too. It's very sweet.

It's very rewarding when wild-caught Pokemon like you, too.

Have you ever had any difficult Pokémon?

Ah, sometimes. Jack's kind of a spitfire, and the two Tyrantrums I have can be hard to manage, but I don't think there's such thing as a Pokemon that's impossible to control.

They do seem very willing to learn... and so smart, too. You have Tyrantrums? Really?

I do.

I couldn't say no to two dinosaurs when a person was offering them last year.

I'm... not certain I would be able to handle a dinosaur, not to mention two.

Ah, they were little when I got them.

They're not dangerous, as strange as a thing as that might be to think about.
