[ If you've spoken to Naminé before, you might notice she looks far more at ease now. Being around people who actually like her and mean her no harm has done wonders for her, and there's even a small, content smile there. She's sitting cross-legged on the floor, and in her lap is a Chikorita.

Making sure not to disrupt the sleeping Pokémon, she holds up a (probably familiar) feather. ]

... Is it normal to have things like these floating around? They're beautiful, but... I'm not sure what their use is.

Naminé...

[Lightning looks relieved. A little sad, too, because she can tell that her younger friend looks happier. It tugs at her heart and leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. She's happy, though, for her happiness.]

You look well. I've gotten some of those. My Vulpix picked some up as we were walking.

Lightning.

[ That little smile widens, and she gives her a small wave. ]

So do you. I'm sorry we haven't spoken much lately. How have you been? [ There's a pause, and she gently sets down the feather. ] I think a lot of people have found them. There must be a use for them, but...

[She sets her camera down on a dresser and sits on a bed. She's obviously in a hotel room, through her window the Sprout Tower can be seen swaying. There's also several Pokémon littered about the bed.]

Traveling. I'm seeing what I can before I make a decision.

Who knows... my other Pokémon are hesitant to touch them.

[ Wow, Lightning's managed to get pretty far. Though, she has to wonder if her friend has gotten Fly yet. ]

I know you'll make the right one. [ Unshakable faith in virtually everyone but herself. ] Mm... Li, my Chikorita, found it and brought it over. After that, he didn't like getting near it.

[She gently pets the sleeping Vulpix beside her. She's got a feather tucked between some of her tails.]

It'll be hard to make. If I make it, it'll be a long while before we see each other in person again.

I see... Sinopa insisted on keeping one of the feathers. I let her, since she seems so smitten with it.

[ That does make her sad--and it shows. Transparency can be a pain like that. ]

Well... we'll just have to communicate like this, then.

Really? It doesn't look so bad like that.

[She bites her lip at this. She feels horrible about telling her like this, but Lightning had no other choice.]

Yes. More frequently, too. I want to know what you've been doing.

She thinks to, too.

I haven't been up to much. I've been traveling with Riku and the others. [ She honestly hasn't done anything of note--she's too apprehensive about the idea of challenging a gym. Chalk it up to that inferiority complex. ] What have you been up to?

She probably won't ever let it go, will she?

You've got a good group of people to travel with. [This makes her sad. She's been so caught up in traveling that she has yet to find another companion. It'd be nice to have someone other than Pokémon to talk to.] I've beaten a gym. Going to go after another.

No. She's like that about a lot of things.

[ Naminé nods--and she almost tells Lightning she misses her. But that would be odd... wouldn't it? Maybe Lightning can tell she's about to say something, then stops herself before she can. ] Congratulations. I'm sure you'll be able to take them all on with no problem.

Maybe she does it to impress you.

[Part of Lighting wants to tell Naminé she misses her, too. Her mixed up feelings lately are keeping her from making any statements of affection or care for anyone. She won't let that on if she can help it.] Will you be trying for any badges? Riku could give you some good advice.

Impress me? Why would she need to do that?

I might... I'm not sure yet. [ More like she's not confident she'll be able to actually do it. Nevermind that she's got good intuition a lot of the time. Nevermind that she's been lovingly training her Pokémon. ]

Well... you're her trainer.

I'll root for you if you do. [That brings a topic changer.] How much does Ellie miss Hope?

Even Vanille didn't try this hard.

[ That Lightning will cheer for her is a surprise--but it makes her feel happy. Naminé pauses and brings Ellie out of her Pokéball. Immediately once Ellie sees Lightning, she paws at the screen, letting out a soft mewl. ] A lot. I think. She knows who you are and that you're Hope's trainer, at least.

They all do have different personalities.

[And Hope is awake. He scrambles into Lightning's lap and mewls at Ellie. He's a Meowstic now, but he hopes his sister recognizes him.] ... I've spoken with him, since he can talk to me via his psychic abilities... He wants to be with his sister.

That they do. Sazh is the only one of my Pokémon who is content just being called a good boy.

[ Ellie's a smart kitty. She mewls loudly, pawing harder at the screen. ] Ellie, be careful... Lightning? [ Naminé's eyes widen just a bit. ] Oh... Does he?

What Pokémon is Sazh?

[Ellie! I miss you! He paws the air, still mewling.] He does. He said he wants to be a better big brother to her, which is why he trained hard to evolve. [Light does look a bit sad. But she won't deny her Pokémon happiness.]

Sazh is a Staraptor. He's sitting on a branch outside the window.

[ Ellie lets out a string of mewls. Brother, can I get to you through this strange barrier?! ] He's a good brother. I'm sure she's very proud of him.

A Staraptor? May I see him?

[No, you can't. It's not a barrier, dear sister.] They seem to be happy to see each other. [Light looks down at Hope and nods.] He's ready to go whenever you want him. I can send him via the PC.

I'll see if he'll come in. [She whistles softly, and a moment later a rather big bird lands beside her.] This is Sazh.

[ There's a pitiful mewl from Ellie, which gets her a pat from her trainer. It's with a lot of surprise that Naminé stares at the screen. She sees Sazh, and she'd admire him more if she weren't so shocked. ] Lightning, are... are you sure?

I am. Like I said, I talked it over with him. He knows that it'll mean when he leaves me. You'll be his new trainer. But he misses Ellie, and I won't force him to stay with me since he has family he wants to protect. [Lightning is big on family. It would break her heart if she knew she was making any of her Pokémon unhappy.]

[ She bows her head--trying to compose herself here--for a moment before looking at the camera again. Her eyes are a little misty. ]

I... thank you. So much. I'll take good care of him, Lightning.

[Is she crying? Light looks shaken. Was she just that happy? That was what she was hoping for, and the words said backed that up.]

You don't need to thank me.

[Her eyes are drawn down again, and after a moment, she nods.]

Hope said he'll protect you and Ellie, and your other Pokémon. Like a knight.

A knight...

Well... [ She smiles, and it's a lot happier than her usual ones. Much more... light. ] I think Ellie is even more excited than I am.

[Light's eyes widen a bit, she can't help it. It's been a long time since she's seen such a bright smile, just like the smile she saw on Serah's face when they were reunited. It makes her sad but happy as well. So Nami gets a very soft smile in return.]

I'm glad.
