This might be an odd question, but how do you decide which Pokémon to catch? Do you catch every one you see, or...?

If it's a Normal-type and I'm not training one yet, I catch it.
If it's a member of a common species that shows a lot of personality, I catch it.
If it's neither of those but it starts clinging to my foot while I'm trying to swim and won't let go, well. You get the idea.

So you train mostly Normal types?
Some Pokémon really do that?

Yeah, though I somehow ended with a bunch of Fairy-types after the Big November Type Change.
Even as a Skrelp, my Dragalge firmly believed in hugs and in cutting off my blood flow. It was almost adorable.

When Seaweed hugs, he hugs hard. I'm not sure if that's shared with all the members of his species, or if it's just his own personal quirk.

I'm 100% fine, don't worry. You haven't yet had the chance to discover how creative certain Pokémon can be in showing their love, I take it?

Now that's a quirk that can be sweet or alarming. Staring unblinkingly and blankly, or staring with hope in her eyes?

I think there's a bit of hope? Mostly... blankly.

That bit of hope is... a good sign, I guess? Not every species can emote openly, but every little sign of feeling is important.

Mm. I'm glad they're capable of that. It's... nice to see.

Yeah. And the more time you spend with them, the more likely you are to understand the little ways they show you what they feel.
